Edwards Brick Store

The unique two story brick building built in the 1930's
is located at the corner of School Street and Main Street, across the
street from the "Essex Garage" and the "Essex Marina", in the village of
Essex, New York. The building was origanally used as a men's "
haberdashery" (clothing store), then the village liquor store and then
several short lived retail stores. Recently it has been a residece for
marina employees and is now rented, furnished with antiques, on a seasonal
basis. The large first floor( an excellant party/ gathering space), is a
combination livingroom with wood stove, dining area and kichen area with
breakfast island. The bathroom, with shower, is also located on the first
floor. There is also a large storage area with outside access on the ground
level for bicycles, etc.. The airconditioned second floor is one large room
with a divider wall seperating a large bedroom area(queen bed) and an
additional bedroom(full size bed and fold out couch)/ sitting area. The
house can sleep up to six guests. There is a view of the lake and ferry
crossing from the front bedroom windows and french doors.
